"The Greatest Loss" (album 2016)

by Frostmoon Eclipse

/
1.
Daydreaming of dead ends. Questioning the passing of time. Feeling the burden of atmosphere roaring on my head. This path leads to nowhere, and I grew tired and cold. We can't bear the horror. We turn and look away. The temple has collapsed. Since a long time now. The earth is naked. Dry. Venomous. Torn. We strive to find the day, to let that moment come to life. Who could ever justify the price of conscience? From a view of vast skies to the rusty walls of existence. When the sun becomes evil. We turn and look away. You don't seem to handle the greatest loss. Just like us. Just like everyone. I will rest for a while inside the locked room. Quietly.
2.
This taste again. Mornings repeat themselves again. Open your eyes and see night through daylight. Hold on to this cross. not to go through this night.. What you were looking for has drowned in deep dark. These eyes can’t see but death - death all around me. Walking on means facing your memories. Failing again to bring thoughts to a halt. Will this be the same after I'm gone? Watching children playing on the streets. Youth: a vacuum of broken promises. A life not as I craved for. Not as I wished for. Life like an empty shell. Wounds are promises. And scars, hell thousandfold. I only see red, red as blood. I am ready to die. A million lives for what I need to do. A million same things. Mistakes. Misunderstandings. Hate is what makes me feel alive. No memory of me to be fond of – for you who will stay. No memory of me - for you who will stay. No memory of me - for you who will stay. No memory of me - for you who will stay. No memory of me - for you who will stay. A wicked man, my atrocity dignified. Once I was young. The mirror of you. Despise, I spit on the fire forging my sword. Nothing to care about. Wounds are promises. And scars, hell thousandfold. I only see red, red as blood. I am ready to disappear.
3.
Hear your breath fade out. Feel it leaving you. See the skyline passing, it’s already behind you. The noise of the wheel. Light melts into lines. No longer by your side. No longer it shines. Staring at the railroad ahead, from what you can see It runs into nothingness. And nothing are we. There’s a kind of relief in the fading of day. Being lost through these landscapes. You chase them away. But how does it feel. When it’s all gone. And how could it be That all has gone wrong. Darkness descends. Fire down your throat. You swallow your punishment. The same one you sought. But how does it feel. When it’s all gone. And how could it be That all has gone wrong. Hear you breath fade in. Feel it inside you. The morning ahead. A pain to pass right through. The false gleam of hope. In the shape of a sight. A lifetime been spent. In the treason of light.
4.
I spent my last words for this, resignation and failure. Over again, over the mountains and back in the mud. Empty sights. Arms stretched towards the sun. It’s over. Invisible water covering our feet. Years passed in exile. I will not pay for your treason. Cursing an evil divinity. Abandoned like misbirth. In constant need for our shadows. Built upon redundancy and mockery. In constant need for our shadows. Built upon disregard and slavery. Aspirations and dreams like black sides of stars. In perpetual motion, naked to the fiction they live. Hiding my traces again. In need for stillness. In a desert of sound. By the darkest depths of body and mind. In constant need for our shadows. Built upon redundancy and mockery. I burn the bridge that is you. Just to build you again. Blind to the deeper meaning. Comprehension failed.
5.
Sunlight is pale. Pale and cold. All memories have left this home. We stand motionless. Doubting the very essence of our presence here. The meaning of it all has forever been lost. Swept away. We watched our cities turn to dust. And again, no answer from above. We come from nowhere. Straight down into nothing.
6.
I am the fallen one. I am the one who grieves. Into the darkest of nights. Into the darkest of times. Torn apart by the withering voices of deceit. Their sound. It echoes from building to building. Reality blossoms into this flower. Dead and cold. I ate your heart and spit it on the altar of my fate. Drunk by its poison. Roaming on the streets. With an absence of sound filling my very substance. There is no future for us. Life ends here and we all failed. Farewell. This road is filled by a darkness. It drips from the hole in my chest. It creeps through the gutters and into the light. Gives shape to a city devoid of all life. A sky of concrete welcomes my arrival. Distant. Threatening. A hand around my neck. Light rests hidden inside this window before me. But here. Where no light burns. There is just defeat. I asked the gods for forgiveness and for help. Fallen into silence. Into conscious nothingness. You told me you’d build hope out of this rain. But you have drowned before my eyes. You drowned before my eyes. There is no future for us. Life ends here and we all failed. Farewell.
